Oxford’s Choccolocco Park has become the pinnacle of success for hundreds of the nation’s premier softball and baseball players as they gather here each May, competing to be the tops in their respective leagues and conferences. Choccolocco Park is now in preparation for another month full of championship excitement.
Championship May 2026’s calendar of games includes:
- The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) will be the first at bat with their softball championships set for April 29-May 2.
- The Gulf South Conference (GSC) Baseball Championship returns May 1-5, and the Softball Championship follows on May 6-9.
- The Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Baseball District Championship is scheduled for May 7-10.
- The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Baseball and Softball Championships play ball on May 18-22.
- The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Softball World Series is set for May 25-30.
“These tournaments validate the foresight of former Mayor Leon Smith and the city council in constructing the park and our continued support of this venue, which benefits our entire region in so many ways,” said Mayor Alton Craft. “It also speaks volumes about the professionalism of our park staff and the welcoming nature of the citizens of Oxford that once these athletic associations have played here, they make the decision to return year after year.”
